installs smoke and carbon monoxide detectors ; changes hard-to-reach light bulbs
and installs bathroom grab bars and indoor railings and cleans first floor gutters!

Another limited program for those homeowners, aged 62 and older offers outdoor railings and door replacement. All labor and materials are provided at no charge but projects are limted to a 2000 dollar cap. These particular projects are awarded to the lowest comptetive bidder.
Funding for this program is provided by a federal grant from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Town of Smithtown.
